Bridge - Strategic platforms

Strategic platforms

The Bridge action supports the creation of collaborative and multidisciplinary research projects in priority fields for the Brussels-Capital Region and that hold a short- to mid-term valorization potential in the Region.

Bridge projects foster collaborations between research teams from different research organizations and representatives from Brussels’ industrial, associative and/or institutional sector. The aim of these interactions is to transfer the project's technologies and knowledge to Brussels industrial, associative and institutional fabric.

Research organisations are the beneficiaries of the financial intervention.

Companies, associations and institutions who would like to participate in an effective collaboration may also be eligible for a subsidy, according to the criteria given in the program guidelines.

Bridge 2018 – Green Chemistry

For its 2018 edition, the Bridge action focuses on Green Chemistry.  This theme is defined along 4 axis: 1/ circular approach of chemical product and processes, 2/ more efficient processes, 3/ less hazardous products and processes, 4/and safer plants.

Therefore, in this call are included projects that focus on the study and development of chemical products and processes that:

  • use renewable or waste feedstocks

  • prevent wastes

  • are designed to break down to innocuous substances after use

  • reduce the amount of reagents and/or energy needed for their synthesis

  • are less hazardous but still as effective as the ones currently in use

  • help minimizing the risk for accident or hazardous substances release

A complete description of the call scope is given in the program guidelines.
